As early as 1926, with the arrival of swimmers and water polo players in Shkver, a new meeting place for Herzegovinian youth was born near the embankment, then the swimming pool in the sea, and now the magnificent Jadran pool. The aforementioned embankment becomes the western side of the pool. In 1939, a swimming pontoon was built on the southern side of the pool for the organization of the junior championship of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. In 1952, the pool in Shkver received concrete western and southern sides and the first lighting. In 1970, the missing east side was also built and the pool took on a true pool-in-the-sea look, with new lighting replacing the existing one. With the reconstruction of the pool in 2003, the pool in the sea acquires an even more beautiful appearance. In September 2009, work began on the construction of a new swimming pool. On July 19, 2012, the "Yadran" pool with fresh water, a water heating system and all related equipment was officially opened in Shkver.
