Maria was born in Cyprus. She began her dance training at the School of Dance of Frosso Hadjigeorgiou at the age of three. In 2010 and 2013, Maria was invited by Dancecyprus to be a part of The Junior Company where she worked with many well-known choreographers such as Margarita Makridou and Davide Bombana. She also had the privilege to participate in the 2nd Dancecyprus Gala in December 2010.
Maria participated in the YAGP Finals competition in New York where she received a scholarship at The Ailey School Summer Intensive. She was also awarded a scholarship at Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive.
In 2013, she participated at YAGP Semi-Finals competition in Brussels where she was among the top 12 dancers in the senior category of contemporary dance. She also participated in Pacyprian Ballet Competition where she won the first place and the National Greek Competition where she received a scholarship for the Chateau-roux Summer Intensive.
In 2014, Maria attended the National Greek Competition ‘Terpsichore’s Erga’ and was awarded a full scholarship at the CapeSchool in South Africa and at The Ailey School where she started her studies as a scholarship student. In 2016, Maria attended the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Intensive with a full scholarship performed the work of Carmen Rozenstraten. Maria joined the Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 2016.
