In 1996, George Ioannou combined a love of horses with natural business acumen and George’s Ranch was born.
An immediate hit with tourists, the Ranch quickly gained a reputation for laidback hacks along one of the most stunning coastlines in Cyprus. However, it was when Caroline Scambler joined the team two years later that George’s Ranch grew from a modest eight-horse hacking business into a centre of equine excellence that has since become the envy of the island.
Today, George’s Ranch is home to 40 horses and ponies, with internationally-qualified instructors offering lessons to riders at every level in all disciplines. Having established a reputation for breeding winners on the local and international competition circuit, the Ranch’s livery service also enjoys an enviable reputation with riders from all over Cyprus choosing to stable and school their horses at the yard. The staff also help with ‘problem’ horses, providing in-house training and support to ensure that all owners are able to have the best possible experience with their equine companions.
