Pancyprian Offshore Nautical Club (PONATHA) was established in 2000 and is based in the Marina of Larnaca.
PONATHA is one of the largest Nautical Clubs in Cyprus and runs a successful sailing school of Maritime and Offshore. Comprehensive courses on navigation, maritime and safety are delivered. The classes consist of theoretical and practical exercises and are designed to be intensive. The students participate in a number of practical exercises onboard of PONATHA club yachts. From time to time PONATHA organises trips around Cyprus as well as abroad, such as to the Greek islands.
PONATHA also actively supports the competition between the club members. Racing events regularly are organised and the graduates are encouraged to join a yacht sailing racing team.
The training program is designed to help you build, appreciate and extend your sailing skills. The course is built in such way that assumes no prior knowledge and devises each section in practical and theoretical parts. Essential Navigation and Seamanship is covered throughout the course. The Sailing Academy combines an exclusive program of theoretical and practical lessons. The offshore sailing lessons are organized by PONATHA Cyprus Sailing Academy, located in Cyprus Larnaca Marina. The courses start every October and last for several months.
