The yacht club of Thessaloniki was founded in 1933. Being one of the oldest sports and sea clubs of Thessaloniki and, in general, the whole country, IOF created the core of sea sports in the city and quickly attracted the attention and participation of young people. During its long journey, the Yacht Club of Thessaloniki has trained thousands of athletes, including many champions and champions of Greek and international sea races, culminating in participation in the Olympic competitions in sailing and rowing.
The most important achievement is the cultivation of a sporting spirit, as well as a contribution to the proper upbringing and training of club athletes. In the pursuit of proper organization of sports departments, the club has at its disposal gyms, ship sheds for storing sports vessels and equipment, office rooms, changing rooms, escort vessels, classrooms and sports rooms for athletes / club members, etc.
